Day 21 Travel Home day

Today we slept in and did not say goodbye to the Larkins as they were already on their way to the airport. Hopefully Joe's head hurt as much as mine did when I woke up from all the fun we had last night. After breakfast, we packed our bags and checked out of our room. We had the bell person stow our bags so we could go for a walk. We found an old area of Barcelona called the La Villa De GrĂ cia district. Our guide from yesterday told us about it and said it hasn't changed much in over a 100 years. He was right! The streets are very narrow and the people are older and there were not too many tourists. We stumbled upon a small square where some older non-FOP's were dancing away and gave us a great show to watch while we sat at a cafe and enjoyed some wine. Then we had to start our way back to the hotel to catch the bus to the airport and start our way home. After checking in and going through no less than three passport control areas, we were able to make it to the gate and board the plan. As I took my seat in the last row of premium economy, I look over and noticed the first row of economy had two moms with two 6 month old babies that were already crying. Now I have a new acronym, FCB's. These two were actually very good and were mostly quiet for the flight. After our 12 and a 1/2 hour flight, we made it to SFO. As we went through Global Entry, Donna had a snafu with her picture so we had to spend a few extra minute chatting with the passport guy to let us in. We grabbed our bags and headed for the truck for the long drive home. We had to share driving duties as I was too tired to drive the whole way by myself. We made it home safely and went to bed. Here are some pics from our little walk today.

The beautiful apartments in the old district.

The narrow streets are so cute.

The lovely square that we found.

The not FOP's dancing away the morning!

This store was probably like this a hundred years ago.

We love how they make the shuttered store front look so much better.

A typical apartment in Barcelona.

And that's a rap for this trip!
