Day 5 Lagos

Today we took a short ride over to Lagos, a beautiful area in southern Portugal. We walked out to the cliffs overlooking the ocean and had a small hike around the area. It reminded me of the rugged northern coast of California. Then we went into the old city for a walkabout and found a place to have a drink and some tapas. After that we walked down to the old harbor area and sat outside for a glass of wine before heading back to the house to get cleaned up for dinner. Then we took a short drive to the town of Luz for dinner in a nice restaurant along the promenade overlooking the ocean. I had the sea bass which was cooked to perfection while Donna and Janice both had the monk fish kabob with shrimp. The food and wine were fantastic and the company was even better. After returning to the house for a "final final" of wine, we headed off to bed. Here are today's pics.

A bit breezy on top of the cliffs.

We almost made it down to the bottom but our calves are killing us from all the hills.

My small Gin and Tonic.

Portugal is known for its tile. All the streets in the old city look like this.

More tile work.

A very old church that looks to be permanently closed.

More tile work.

A big ass fire station.

Donna and her dingy.

The Portuguese sausage balls were amazing.

The Sea Bass.

Donna's Monk fish kabob.
