Day 6 Alferce, Silves, and Luz Portugal

Today we drove out to Alferce for a short hike over a narrow suspension bridge. The hike was on a boardwalk with lots of stairs. We encountered a bit of drizzle and rain but it was short lived. After the hike we found a very nice little winery and stopped for a tasting and purchased a nice bottle of Syrah. After the winery we headed into Silves for lunch at a BBQ place, not a BBQ place with meats and sauces but with fish, chicken and other types of seafood. Janice and I had the sardines, Donna had the chicken, and Bill had a very differently prepared piece of Dorado. All were good but Donna's chicken was a bit dry. After lunch we headed to an English style pub in Luz to watch Bill and Janice's friends play music for a few hours. We even danced in the street for a bit! Fun was had by all. After that we went back to the house for a glass of wine and went to bed. We have to wake up early to finish packing and catch the train to Porto at 7:30 am. Here are today's pics.

The stairs to the suspension bridge.

Stairway to heaven.

A little liquid sunshine for the hike.

The winery we visited.

Love all the tile work in Portugal.

The storks are returning and are everywhere.

Beautiful art work on the side of a fire training tower at a fire training facility. Look closely at the baby's head.

The BBQ at our lunch stop.

Our large plate of sardines for Janice and me.

Bill's Dorado.

Donna's chicken.

The English pub.

The singers were very good.
