Day 19 Barcelona

Today we awoke after an uncomfortable night of sleeping due to the window not being able to seal well enough to keep out the noise from the street. So we heard people talking and cars and scooters driving by all night. In the morning, we asked if someone could take a look and fix it but they decided to upgrade us to a larger room with an interior view of nothing really, but that's ok with us. Then we joined our group for the city tour and visits to La Sagrada Familia Basilica and La Pedrera. After a tour of the city, we stopped for lunch at an amazing restaurant for tapas. The food was delightful and filling so no need for dinner tonight. The Basilica is amazing. We were here seven years ago and a lot has change since then. They are on schedule to finish construction on the 100th anniversary of Antonio Gaudi's death. He was killed by a street car going to work at age 74. Then we visited his work on an apartment he designed for a very rich man named Mila. The apartment complex La Pedrera is also amazing. It's like diving under the water. The America's Cup is in town and the marina is filled with massive yachts with billions of dollars on display. Here are the pics.

The plaque outside of the hotel where we are staying.

The old bull fighting ring that has been turned into a shopping center since they have outlawed bull fighting in Barcelona.

A very cool looking antenna.

The champion's gate.

Our lunch stop. If you are ever in Barcelona go here and ask for Mataus. He was an outstanding waiter.

Potato & tuna salad. Delicious.

Little mushroom bombs.

Baby squid.

How most of the people look when in the basilica.

The very good wine which Larking and I killed, 2+ bottles.

Underwater in the apartment.

The view from the apartment was amazing.
